Manifesto Review – One: Reps
The development of a reformed Course Rep system that WORKS FOR THE STUDENTS
Done:
- Nearly 500 Course Reps registered
- Around 200 Course Reps trained
- 15/16 School Liaison Reps elected
- 5/5 Faculty Reps elected
- More resource invested by ULSU into Students Reps
- Extra income from the University just for Reps
- Training guides produced for reps
- Regular e-Communication will all reps
- Information guides for academics
- Good working relationships with all Faculty Offices
- Postgraduate Reps in place
- In touch with FE Student Reps at Riseholme
- Course Rep Exec has met
- 150 Hoodies on Reps’ backs out on campus!

To Do:
- Promote Student Reps to the Student Body
- Educate academics more on the role and benefits of Student Reps
- Support Faculty & School Reps in engaging Course Reps
- Make Course Rep Exec effective and regular
- Provide refresher training for all Reps
- Award and reward good Student Reps
Ambitions:
- Better Post Graduate Representation
- More staff support for Student Reps in ULSU
- Collect feedback from Subject Committees across the University
Generally; pretty super so far, but still miles to go before I’m satisfied!
